Why I Don’t Watch Anime as Much as I Used To
Anime was a big part of my childhood, I grew up watching Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Doraemon, Crayon Shin-chan, Gundam, and many more. It will always be a part of my life, I would not deny it. I will watch anime for another long time.
However, I don’t watch as many anime as I used to in school. When I was in high school or college, I had so many time to watch every single anime every season. What about now? I just watch that stand out, and probably just try a few episodes then just leave it if doesn’t suit my taste.
I don’t have much time
Watching anime is super fun, there is no doubt. When I was in school I watched every single anime every season, I had no regret to spent my time. I was just tottaly into anime and game back then, I had much spare time. However, after I finished school and started a real life (working), I found it difficult to catch up with all of them.
Working from 9 am – 5 pm, arrive at home around 6 pm. I’m just too tired to do anything else, if I need to do anything I would rather something else that more important. Unfortunately, anime is not my priority anymore.
The anime becomes similar
It’s been around 10 years since I knew anime. I still remember when I was a kid, I woke up at 5 am, took a shower and ate breakfast on Sunday to watch my favorite Gundam at 6 am. I was so grateful with my Mom because she prepared everything for me.
In my opinion, the anime just getting closer to each other. It has a similar genre every season, there will be some title that stands out but the rest just average. So, I just select the most hype one and gambling with some of them.
I’m not sure why, or how, I just got bored with some of the anime. For example, I haven’t finished Tokyo Ghoul (need 2 more episodes), suddenly I stopped watching Sword Art Online (the last 2 episodes). To be honest, I got bored with those somehow. The fact that those titles are the hottest and I got bored, something wrong with me.
Actually, not only with those titles, but I also felt the same now with Tensei Shitara Slime Datte Ken. The last 2 or 3 episodes almost got me stopped to watch it.
Gundam is my favorite since I was a kid and unfortunately, there is no more Gundam! I have no idea why Bandai does not make another Gundam, I don’t really like Gundam build fighter or something. The last Gundam that I watched was Gundam 00. Let me know if you know a good Gundam series!
Apart from the reason above, I think I just need a short break. Because sometimes, out of nowhere I watch any finished series that came up into my mind. Have you ever felt the same as me? If yes, please let me know how you get back to watch anime, or you just stop?
